Ann is a legal secretary who has been working in dispute resolution for over 20 years. She previously worked under the Commercial Litigation partner at a Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners dispute resolution practice, specialising in claimant professional negligence work.

At Eldwick, Ann works directly with the firm’s Partners on their dispute resolution and sanctions & regulatory matters. She also manages the caseload of junior lawyers at the firm, and is the main point of contact for the Court, Tribunal and Arbitration centres on filing and case document management.

Outside of work, Ann enjoys spending time with her family and caravanning in West Sussex during the summer.

Haike is a paralegal in the Dispute Resolution and Sanctions departments at Eldwick Law. He works directly with partners on Commercial Litigation, Arbitration, and Sanctions related matters.

Haike achieved Second Class Upper Honours in Law (LLB, 2025) and is currently taking a Masters in Law specialising in International Dispute Resolution, both at King’s College London. While working at Eldwick, he has worked directly with Jenna Kruger on sanctions compliance relating to a divestment from Russia; advice on the enforceability of China based arbitration awards; and a commercial litigation dispute relating to the interpretation of penalty clauses in the context of construction works.

Having lived in Hong Kong and being fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese, Haike works closely with Rashid Gaissin and Jenna Kruger on China related matters at Eldwick Law.

Boris is a paralegal in Eldwick Law’s Dispute Resolution and Sanctions department. He supports solicitors and partners with case and client management, focusing on contentious matters and sanctions compliance.

Boris has contributed through his legal research and drafting skills, assisting solicitors with the procedural and substantive aspects of cases. He provides support across client care and compliance: from onboarding, KYC, and due diligence to maintaining regular client communications and providing updates on ongoing matters.

Some highlights of his work at Eldwick include assisting in disclosure review for a breach of contract case, analysing the merits of securities litigation within a multimillion-dollar restructuring matter, and supporting in resisting a worldwide freezing injunction in a civil fraud dispute. Boris has also drafted correspondence in connection with an arbitration enforcement challenge and in opposing an interim third-party debt order. He regularly prepares pre-action protocol letters, correspondence with opposing counsel, and briefs to counsel. His experience also includes property-related disputes in probate and landlord and tenant disputes, as well as in opposing an application to register a restriction on land with HM Land Registry.

Outside of the dispute resolution practice, Boris works flexibly within the firm’s Sanctions department, under the supervision of Jenna Kruger. He has contributed to legal research and drafting for trade and financial sanctions advice and assisted in preparing submissions to OFSI and OTSI for licence applications on divestment grounds. He has particular experience with international trade regulatory compliance matters involving clients in the oil and gas, pharmaceutical, and consumer manufacturing sectors.

Originally from Armenia, Boris earned First Class Honours in History and Politics (BA, 2023) and an MSc in Russian and East European Studies (2024), both from the University of Oxford.

Fluent in Russian and Armenian, Boris contributes valuable regional insight to Eldwick’s work across Eastern Europe and Central Asia, often assisting in matters requiring communication with Russian-speaking clients. He has assisted Waleed Tahirkheli and Jenna Kruger in several matters on behalf of Kazakh state entities.

Dr Can Eken is an Arbitration specialist at Eldwick Law. He is an assistant professor at Durham Law School, Durham University, and co-director of the Durham International Dispute Resolution Institute (DIDRI). His research and teaching mainly focus on international commercial arbitration, investment law and third-party funding.

Dr Eken is admitted to practise law as an attorney in California, Turkiye, and as a solicitor in England and Wales. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is on the list of arbitrators in many reputable arbitration centres such as the LCIA, DIAC, and AIAC. He was a visiting scholar at Stanford University, the Max Planck Institute in Luxembourg and Singapore Management University.

Rashid is a Partner at Eldwick Law, specialising in cross-border litigation, arbitration and sanctions compliance.

Rashid’s day to day focus is on international disputes, primarily commercial and investment arbitration, and High Court of London disputes. His clients include states, quasi-state entities and high net worth individuals from energy rich regions, such as Central Asia and the Middle East where he has extensive experience and contacts.

Rashid’s practice overlaps with Eldwick’s own expertise in commercial disputes, including litigation in the Chancery Division of the High Court and international arbitration centres across the world. Rashid’s jurisdictional versatility is key to our team managing disputes and understanding the commercial needs of clients in the mining, oil and gas, aviation and electronics sectors.

Rashid is dual-qualified in the UK and Kazakhstan. He is also an independent non-executive member of the Board, Legislative Committee and Nomination and Remuneration Committee at the Astana Financial Services Authority (the regulator of the Astana International Financial Centre).

Personable and approachable, Rashid has the ear of his clients and his peers. He has acted for state entities across the world, as well as corporates and private individuals, including shareholders of multinational corporations.

Julian is a solicitor, notary public, and Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a CEDR accredited mediator.

His areas of practice include intellectual property rights (IPR) – copyright, trademarks, patents, design, branding, image, story and format rights, trade secrets, and passing off including the application of IPR to emerging technologies such as blockchain, NFTs and AI.

Julian has a broad range of experience in a variety of sectors that include film, TV, music, publishing, design and fashion, gaming, photography, technology and innovation including fintech, the automotive industry and the renewable and sustainable energy sectors.

Also, he advises on commercial law issues including licensing, franchise, agency, directors and shareholders agreements.

Julian’s background in civil and commercial litigation matters means he has a rounded and holistic approach when advising a client being mindful of potential pitfalls that can arise and how these should be avoided.

Julian’s alternative dispute resolution (ADR) practice includes being a founder member of Q Chambers whose services include mediation, and arbitration services. Q Chambers works collaboratively with Eldwick Law.
